While some people launch new projects every day with an army of AI agents, there’s a huge layer of people who write tasks in a paper planner, mock up business cards in Paint, and run interviews exclusively in the office.
That’s not good or bad. It’s just worth looking outside your information bubble sometimes.
A friend asked me to fix one word in a business card mockup so he could rush it to print. The mockup was a picture made in Paint, with a photo of an old card as a reference.
I sent all of it to Claude, explained what was needed. After a dozen back-and-forth messages, the output was a finished business card ready for print.
My friend had no idea that was even possible. Neither did anyone on his team.
The people who read AI newsletters, follow the latest model releases, and build with agents every day — we forget that this is a tiny slice of the working world.
The gap between what AI can do and what most businesses actually use is enormous. That gap is the opportunity.
You don’t need to build the next AI platform to benefit from it. You just need to use the tools available to you better than the people around you.
That advantage exists right now. For most industries, it will exist for years.
